IN LINE with its tradition of spreading cheer during Ramadan, UOA Group presented food hampers and duit raya to 250 single parents and the disabled in Kerinchi.
The gesture was also part of its corporate social responsibility initiative.
The hamper distribution was conducted with strict adherence to Covid-19 standard operating procedures and guidelines.
To better manage the number of attendees at the event, the Raya hamper recipients were divided into small groups and notified in advance on the allocated time slots to collect their hampers.
Each hamper comprised rice, cooking oil. sugar, flour, coffee, biscuits and canned food.
Also present at the event was Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil.
UOA Development Bhd general manager (human resources) Haikal Akmar said the group believed in making a difference in the lives of needy communities.
“Although Hari Raya Aidilfitri may be different again this year in the midst of Covid-19 with many still struggling, we hope the contribution will help spread some festive joy to the single parents, disabled and their families,” he said.
The event was organised with the support of ADRF Malaysia, a non-profit organisation that helps underprivileged and vulnerable children improve their lives through education.
“As a socially-conscious corporate citizen, we will continue to support underserved communities through initiatives that inspire change in positive ways, whether big or small,” added Haikal.
